Facelifts Dr Dabb performs many alternative facelift procedures. Some are very simple, such as a microlift or weave lift, and be performed in the office under local anesthesia. Others may be more complex and require a surgicenter and general anesthesia, such as an endoscopic brow and midface lift or a full facelift. The most common procedure today is a MACS lift (minimal access cranial suspension lift) with autologous fat grafts. This procedure may be done either in the office or surgicenter. This seems to give the best result for the least downtime (usually 7-10 days). Dr Dabb was one of the first surgeons in the U.S to perform this procedure and is recognized nationally as an expert in this procedure. Concept: To provide a vertical lift of the midface, jowl, and neck, and to replace volume loss with the patient’s own fat. Surgery: The procedure is performed through a “short” facelift incision through the sideburn, in front of the ear, and for about 1 cm. behind the earlobe. It may be performed under general, IV sedation or local anesthesia. It takes about 2.5 hours. Recovery: Minimal pain and discomfort. Moderate swelling of the lips. Presentable in 7-10 days in makeup. Return to work: On the average, 1 week to 10 days. |
