Consultation
The consultation at the Center is state-of-the-art
and complete. A full hour is scheduled for the consult, and if
more time is required, it will be provided.
Our Goal
The consultation’s goal is to provide you
with the most complete evaluation of your concern as possible,
and to communicate with you as to the appropriateness of your
desires.
Our Process
To
facilitate this process, you will be taken to a private consultation
room; you will be examined by the surgeon and have digital photographs
taken. These photographs are then transferred to a computer. Utilizing
the Canfield
Mirror Image System, you will participate with the
surgeon in evaluating the photographs and manipulating them, to
see whether your anticipated goals can be created.
Often a patient comes in “procedure”
oriented, rather than having fully assessed the problem. During
the consult, the patient will be able to better visualize the
problem and thus make more appropriate decisions as to the multiple
alternatives that are available.
Many times, the patient will see more clearly with
this approach the things that are really bothering them, and alter
their surgical goals accordingly.
In addition to better understanding of the procedures,
a careful review of complications will be presented with the aid
of the computer. It is uncommon to have major complications, but
the patient must obtain a thorough understanding of the possibilities
of complications occurring, and be able to accept the worst-case
scenario.
Fees and cost of surgery
The charge for the aesthetic consultation is $100, which is applied
to the surgical fee if the procedure is completed. Non-cosmetic
consults will be billed at our standard insurance rates. At the
time of the consultation fees and cost of surgery will be reviewed.
It is appropriate to have an idea of what you would budget for
a procedure prior to the consult, so that the consult may focus
on what you can realistically afford. You may go ahead and schedule
or return for further consultation at no additional charge.
A package fee, along with finance options, will be presented
which covers all charges including the surgical facility, anesthesia,
and postoperative care.
